Miracle Quadruplets Born to Thankful Family; 'God Is Real!' Dad Says
A set of miracle quadruplets were born to Ashley and Tyson Gardner on Sunday, bringing the start of one journey and the end of a hard-fought battle to bring the baby girls into the world.
Indie, Esme, Scarlett, and Evangeline Gardner made their debut on Sunday, after doctors decided that it would be too risky to let them stay in Ashley's womb any longer. All four were delivered by Cesarean section on Dec. 29, 2014.
Ashley and her doctors worked hard to ensure that the babies would have the best chances possible. The couple struggled with infertility for eight years before undergoing fertility treatments that resulted in the quadruple pregnancy.
Ashley's reaction to learning she was pregnant with quads, two sets of identical twins, was filmed by Tyson and posted online, which quickly went viral. Ever since, the couple has been busy posting updates on Facebook, including the births of the baby girls and the first family photos.
"To witness the birth of your child, is to see God," Tyson posted. "There are not any words I can say that will let you know how we felt in that moment. To those of you who have witnessed this yourselves, you [k]now what I mean when I say this. Please don't give up. Our greatest challenges shape us. They prepare us for our divine callings in this life. God has a plan for each of us, and his time is perfect."
The baby girls weighed in at two pounds each, which is quite good for quadruplets. The Gardner's story will be featured in a special on TLC, and Tyson and Ashley offered special thanks to the channel, which was "there for the birth of our daughters and will be following our family throughout the coming months."
All of the baby girls are expected to grow and thrive, and right now Tyson and Ashley are reveling in their arrival.
"Never give up hope on your dreams, they do still come true! We hope everyone has an amazing 2015, you never know what can happen!" the couple posted on New Year's Eve.
