Missing Baby Lisa Irwin: Have Police Accused Mother of Murdering Her Little Girl?

Investigators are now seeking separate interviews with the parents of 11-month-old Lisa Irwin of Kansas City, Mo., as the attorney representing Lisa's parents claims police have accused Lisa's mother of murder.

According to ABC News, investigators said Monday that they want to submit Deborah Bradley and Jeremy Irwin, the parents of the missing girl, to "tough questions" that need to be answered.

Kansas City Police Capt. Steve Young said that he is not in disagreement with the family's attorney, Joe Tacopina, who stated that the family had cooperated and answered questions asked by investigators. Still, Young said the answers so far have not been sufficient.

"We need them to sit down apart from each other, with detectives, and answer the tough questions detectives have for them concerning what they may or may not know about anything, who came and went [the night Lisa disappeared]," Young told said.

Investigators have been unable to come up with a solid lead of the little girls' whereabouts, as they entered the fourth week of her disappearance.

Over the weekend, they focused on a number of eyewitness reports of a suspicious individual being seen carrying a baby, and a surveillance tape of a man dressed in white as he left a wooded area, at 2:30 a.m., the night the child is alleged to have disappeared.

Tacopena has expressed frustration with the tenor of the investigation: "It really is maddening to me to listen to this police spokesperson come out there, and instead of informing the public, and more importantly the family, about leads and the status of the investigation and the manhunt, he comes out and makes these statements."

The New York attorney added during his interview with ABC News, "And, quite frankly, they've [Lisa parents] done everything they've been asked to do...They have nothing to hide. They want answers."

Tacopena continued, "The mother who is missing her 10-month-old baby, within an hour, sitting on the floor trembling, as her husband called 9-1-1. Within an hour of that the police are interviewing her, accusing her of murder. That's just not good investigatory tactics and it doesn't build good faith in them."
