Total giving through the missions arm of Missionettes Ministries in 2004 was $107,286.88.

Total giving through the missions arm of Missionettes Ministries in 2004 was $107,286.88. While not a new record as set in 2003, this figure represents an increase of over $20,000 from the old record set in 2002.

“Missionettes leaders and the girls have caught the vision for missions giving,” national Missionettes coordinator Debby Seler told the Assemblies of God News Service.

“We are so excited that Coins for Kids giving was above $100,000 for a second year,” Seler added. “We believe that God will continue to bless and bring even greater growth to the funds given to missions projects by Missionettes.”

Coins for Kids, which assists missions project that specifically affects children, has in previous years assisted the Touch the World Care Center in Ethiopia, translation of the Missionettes curriculum into Spanish, Health for the Helpless, and Native American Fellowship, and in providing missionary medical kits, indoor equipment and furnishings for missions and benevolences institutions.

Last year, Coins for Kids saw an increase of 32% in funds, setting the all time highest record for its ministry. The total reached a phenomenal $111,862.40—an increase of $27,387.92 from 2002’s $84,474.48.

The gathered funds, which were used for the Native American Fellowship’s Children’s mentoring program, supported Native American after-school programs, establishing children's ministries in Native American churches, and providing supplies to lead these ministries.

This year, children at House of Grace Orphanage in Chiang Kham, Thailand, will benefit from offerings given to Coins for Kids in 2004. According to AG News, the funds will be used to help the orphanage become more self-sufficient by enabling them to process the foods they already grow.

“The national Missionettes Ministries office led a missions trip to the House of Grace last October (2004),” Seler told AG News. “The 26 women who went on that trip were deeply impressed by the spirit of hope instilled in the children by the directors and house parents of the orphanage. It is an honor to be a part of giving this money to the children of House of Grace.”

“Over the past 11 years of Coins for Kids giving through the Nationwide Missionettes Sleepover, Missionettes has given over $952,000 to missions,” continued Seler. “We are believing that during this 50th birthday year for Missionettes Coins for Kids giving will blow the top off the $1,000,000 mark—all for the glory of God!”

Because of the sustained giving level to Coins for Kids, the national Missionettes Ministries office has selected two missions projects for 2005. Funds given this year will go to Hillcrest Children’s Home in Hot Springs, Arkansas, and to ministry to the street children of Mexico City through Doug Thomas’ outreach.
