'Mistresses' Season 4 spoilers, plot rumors: Series likely to get renewed

After the dramatic finale of "Mistresses" Season 3 which ended with a cliffhanger, fans have been waiting to learn about the fate of Josslyn Carver.

In the Season 3 finale, Joss started out to find Luca's killer who is discovered to be Wilson, Calista's assistant and who was also her ex-lover. The season ended with viewers not knowing if Joss was dead or alive since the last time they saw her, Wilson was holding a gun to her head as the closing credits began rolling.

It now appears that Joss may indeed be alive going by the showrunners who have been teasing a number of plot points for Season 4. This indicates that "Mistresses'" is indeed headed for renewal and should see another new season.

One of the things that makes Season 4 such a strong possibility is the lack of a proper ending in Season 3, which left some futures undetermined. For instance, no one knows about the fate of Karen (Yunjin Kim) who had said goodbye to Vivian in the Season 3 finale. But Karen was pregnant and it still remains to be seen if she will bring up the child on her own or enter into a romantic relationship with Alec.

Another strong indicator that the show is likely to be renewed for Season 4 was the recent comments of Jess Macallan, who plays the role of Joss, on Canada.com, stating that that she was very much alive and will be with Harry (Brett Tucker). But the couple's relationship could deteriorate with Harry joining a Food Network reality show in the upcoming season. "With the new job and travelling and sudden stardom — it ruins everything. So I can't imagine Harry and Joss are going to have an easy go at it," said Jess.

The ending was a sweet and happy one for April (Rochelle Aytes), though it still remains to be seen what lies in store for her and boyfriend, Marc (Rob Mayes). Fans are wondering if the couple could get married in Season 4. According to showrunner K.J. Steinberg, the two had some great chemistry, though difference of opinions were bound to surface and Season 4 could see some "interesting stuff between them," quoted TV Line.

Season 4 of "Mistresses" promises to be an interesting one with a great plot, new characters and loads of drama.
