'MLB The Show 16' News: Upcoming Game Rewards Skill More Than Anything
The next installment in the "Major League Baseball: The Show" video game franchise is "MLB The Show 16" and according to a report in Tech Times, the upcoming baseball video game will bring a "new precision input gameplay engine" that will allow gamers who are skilled in batting and pitching to shine in the game.
The new gameplay engine is the one that is used for every pitch and bat and whatever method is being used and is able to track this throughout the game online and offline. This was derived from a video report by Game Informer about the new features of the upcoming game.
According to the video report, the game prioritizes "user skill" over everything, which means that whatever you do throughout the game, the more accurate a gamer pitches or bats, the better chances he will have to perform well in the game.
For example, if a gamer is more accurately pitching, much of the balls that the gamer pitches will be going where he wants them to go. Individual gamer skills are an important input to the game and how it is being played. The down side of this new feature, according to the report, is that it will not favor gamers who bat carelessly or pitch wildly without any aim or accuracy. This kind of performance will make it even more difficult for the gamer in "MLB The Show 16."
The game arrives exclusively for the Sony PS4 and PS3 on March 29. Based on the initial photos released, the game will be featuring MLB players like Kansas City Royals infielder Eric Hosmer, Boston Red Sox hitter David Ortiz, Toronto Blue Jay and American League MVP Josh Donaldson among others. Donaldson also serves as the game's cover athlete this time around.
"MLB: The Show" is developed by SCE San Diego Studio and is published by Sony Computer Entertainment.
