'MLB The Show 17' News: Changes to the Commentary Booth and Game Presentation Detailed
Dan Plesac and Harold Reynolds will join Matt Vasgersian in 'MLB The Show 17's' commentary booth
The changes that will be coming to "MLB The Show 17" will not be limited just to hitting, fielding and pitching as even the way the action itself is presented to the players will be revamped.
Developers detailed the presentation changes set to be included in the upcoming game in a new video.
First off, players should know that they will hear new voices calling the action that's taking place on the diamond.
The game's play-by-play man Matt Vasgersian will be joined by the new color commentators Harold Reynolds and Dan Plesac. As noted in the video, Reynolds and Plesac will be able to provide different takes on what's going on since they had different roles back when they were still Major Leaguers.
Reynolds was primarily a middle infielder during his playing days, while Plesac possesses plenty of experience when it comes to close games as he became known for his work as a relief pitcher.
In addition to featuring new commentators, "MLB The Show 17" will also provide players with a new presentation style that can allow them to see baseball games in a different way.
Players can now select the MLB Network option as the broadcast theme style for the game, and doing so will enable them to see new kinds of displays pop up on the screen.
The new broadcast theme style is also designed to replicate how the MLB Network shows real-life games.
Players who decide to use the MLB Network broadcast theme style will also be able to see the new Showtrack feature that details different stats such as exit velocities, launch angles, the distances fielders cover and even how fast runners are on the basepaths.
Baseball fans can discover for themselves just how well these new changes work inside "MLB The Show 17" as soon as it is officially released on March 28.
