Modern Family Season 3: 5-Time Emmy Award Winner to Premiere
After sweeping the Emmys, ABC’s hit comedy series “Modern Family” will premiere its third season Wednesday on prime time television.
The show took home five Emmy Awards Sunday night, including the award for Outstanding Comedy Series.
Created by Chris Lloyd and Steven Levitan in accordance with their real lives, “Modern Family” has met great success since its beginning in 2009. Levitan, along with writer Jeffrey Richman, took home the Emmy Award for their comedy writing.

The comedy follows a large family that lives in a suburban community of Los Angeles, California. Sophia Vergara plays the second wife of Ed O’Neill, and the couple raises her son, played by Rico Rodriguez.
Emmy Award winners for their roles, Julie Bowen and Ty Burrell play a married couple on the show, and have three children. Bowen’s character, Claire, is O’Neill’s onscreen daughter.
The family also includes Jesse Tyler Ferguson, O’Neill’s on-screen son, and Eric Stonestreet, a homosexual couple that has just adopted a baby.
Directed by yet another Emmy Award winner, Michael Spiller, the series has received overwhelmingly positive reviews. This year, the show was the 16th highest revenue earning, and the premiere of its last season coveted 12.6 million viewers.
Speaking with The Christian Post, fan of the show Caroline Wilson explains that the comedy is so realistic and likeable.
“It’s hilarious and genuine… ‘Modern Family’ really makes you realize how every family is wacky in their own way,” Wilson said.
“Modern Family” season three will premiere Wednesday on ABC as an hour long special of two back-to-back episodes: “Dude Ranch” and “When Good Kids Go Bad.”
The first episode, airing at 9 p.m. EST, will feature the entire family’s vacation to Jackson Hole, Wyoming. They family will experiment with cattle herding, horseback riding, and skeet shooting, and ABC assures audiences that there will be huge surprises in store.
The second episode will follow at 9:30 p.m. EST and chronicle the family’s decision to adopt another child.
