'Modern Family' Season 9 Episode 5 Spoilers: Cam and Gloria Face Off
Tension is brewing between Gloria (Sofia Vergara) and Cam (Eric Stonestreet) in the upcoming episode of "Modern Family."
In the episode titled "It's the Great Pumpkin, Phil Dunphy," the synopsis reveals that Cam will overstay his welcome at Jay (Ed O'Neill) and Gloria's house. It looks like he has no plans to leave soon, and Gloria is getting tired of his constant presence. In the last episode, she had to deal with her husband's jealousy when his friend Shorty (Chazz Palminteri) arrived from Costa Rica. Instead of spending time with Jay, the man chose to stick to Gloria and shower her with attention.
Meanwhile, back at Cam's home, he and Mitch (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) are also not doing great. The two keep on arguing over the remodeling of their kitchen. Mitch will eventually lose patience and ask Jay when he plans to finish with the renovation. Elsewhere, Claire (Julie Bowen) and Phil (Ty Burrell) have big plans for the Halloween season, but no one seems to be as excited as they are.
The couple will wonder why the kids are not as pumped up as they usually are during the event. Since the children went away to college and started becoming independent, the Dunphy couple has been feeling lost. In a recent interview, Burrell said he also had no idea what Phil and Claire would do now that their kids are out of the house.
"I'm excited to think about, you know, it really is a hard thing in real life, people finding their identities [when they're] without their kids, and also the kids finding their identities as they become more independent. I think that's really what we're going to be exploring over the next two years. What do the kids become? What becomes their paths and also what of Phil and Claire? What are they gonna decide to do on their own? Other than jet-packing?" Burrell said.
"Modern Family" season 9 episode 5 will air on Wednesday, Oct. 25, at 9 p.m. EDT on ABC.
