Monica Bellucci, Vincent Cassel to Divorce After 14 Year Marriage
Actress Monica Bellucci and her actor husband, Vincent Cassel, announced their plans to divorce after 14 years of marriage.
"Vincent Cassel confirms that he is separating from his wife Monica Bellucci by mutual agreement," a statement released by Cassel's spokeswoman read.
According to AFP, Bellucci's representatives confirmed the story to an Italian press agency.
The two met in 1996 while filming the French film, "The Apartment."
The actors married in 1999 and have two daughters, Deva, 8, and Leonie, 3.
Bellucci may have hinted at signs of trouble in an interview with Grazia magazine back in April.
"We never know how long it will last." She continued, "Today, it works, but in a year...I don't know."
In an interview done around the same time, Cassel told Closer magazine something similar.
"My wife and me are very different animals. This is probably the key to our relationship after 18 years together...We don't seek other people's approval."
These comments confirm what Bellucci has said about as they live different lives.
"I never get involved in the choice of his papers nor in mine," Bellucci said in Vanity Fair. "We are very independent, we live in different worlds: His friends are your friends, mine are different."
The 48-year-old actress has starred in the Passion of the Christ, and both Matrix sequels as well as a slew of independent and foreign films.
Cassel is most known for his roles in Black Swan, Hate, and Ocean's 12 and 13.
