Monica Brown, 33, recently gave 2 million Twitter followers the opportunity to ask her questions in a session titled "#askmo," and the Christian singer used the opportunity to share her faith.

Brown, the mother of three and wife to Miami Heat guard Shannon Brown, has been transparent about facing many obstacles in her life. While her past relationships ended in one previous love interest committing suicide and the reported infidelity of another, the singer knows what it means to endure heartbreak.

When one person asked her about her method for overcoming obstacles, Monica showcased her faith in her simple response.

"God and Great family," Monica responded.

Another person questioned how Monica managed to maintain a positive attitude. The singer alluded to the power of prayer.

"Your perspective has a lot to do with outcome," she responded. "I also stay (prayed) up."

Like many singers, Brown got her start singing in church before bursting onto the music scene in the 1990s. Although her brand of R&B music has made her popular, one fan questioned if she would ever venture into gospel music territory.

"Yes..gospel music is where it all began," she tweeted in response to the inquiry.

Aside from her responses in the question and answer session, Brown makes sure to share her faith with fans on social media. A few weeks ago she took to Instagram to assure fans that God exists.

"There is a God...thru him I lived & loved thru the worst of heart breaks, the weakest of associates, the loneliest of nights & the harsh light of hard days…," (SIC) she wrote. "It's a blessing to be #Happy EVERYTHING we go thru is to get to who and what U need !! Thank U Father for clarity."
