Morgan Freeman tells Piers Morgan: 'I am God'
Morgan Freeman made some controversial statements during an interview with Piers Morgan, including accusing the Tea Party of racism, and referring to himself as “God.”
In the CNN show, which aired Friday, Freeman told Morgan the Tea Party was “racist” for trying to remove President Barack Obama from his presidential seat.
“Tea Partiers – who are controlling the Republican Party, their stated policy, publicly stated, is to do whatever it takes to see to it that Obama only serves one term.”

“Screw the country,” Freeman added. “We’re [the Tea Party] going to do whatever we need to do to get this black man out of here.”
Morgan countered, “But it’s not necessarily a racist –“
“It is a racist thing,” Freeman stated.
The interview also touched on Christian issues when Morgan questioned Freeman about whether or not he was “a God-fearing man.”
Freeman’s response:
“No, I don’t fear anything. I’m God.”
So, “you don’t fear anyone,” Morgan stated.
“…right, I’m God,” Freeman answered. “Now, that sounds frivolous but what I mean is that if God exists it only has to – it can only exist in you, not outside you, right?”
He added, “Right. Do I believe in life after death? My real belief is that life and death are a continuum. One needs the other.”
Freeman had previously explored this question on his breakthrough television series “Through the Wormhole.”
“Is death the end,” the Oscar-award winning actor asked. “Eternal silence, blackness, nothingness, or is there a spark inside of us that lives on beyond our physical selves?”
It’s a mystery that many religions have sought to demystify Freeman stated.
“Christians and Muslims believe in a heaven for the just and a hell for sinners,” Freeman voiced. “Other religions see death as a transition to an existence to a higher plane or to another life here on earth. All of these things have one thing in common.”
“The body is just a vessel for the soul. And the soul is eternal. This is something many believe in their hearts. But is there a way to prove it or disprove it scientifically?”
