Mother's Day Freebies, Deals to Honor Mom
Restaurants are gearing up for one of the biggest days of the year as Mother's Day approaches this Sunday with many special offers and deals.
Observed each year on the second Sunday in May in the U.S., families gather to honor mothers, motherhood, maternal bonds and the mothers' role in society.
This includes gifts such as cards and flowers as well as family outings celebrating togetherness over a nice meal.

Many venues are offering special menus on Sunday as well as deals in honor of Mother's Day.
In an unusual offering, Hooters is giving mothers a free meal on Sunday.
"Kids of all ages are encouraged to invite their mothers to Hooters for special treatment on Mother's Day," Chief Marketing Director at Hooters Dave Henninger told Business Wire.
"The free entrée deal is just one way for Hooters to show its appreciation for hard-working moms and to provide a relaxed atmosphere to enjoy a delicious meal with the family," he added.
Furthermore, many communities are hosting free events honoring moms everywhere this year.
In Orlando, Fla., all mothers will receive free entry passes to Harry P. Leu Gardens as well the Museum on the grounds.
Alternately, in New York City, Ripley's Believe It or Not! in Times Square is offering moms free entrance from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. if they participate in a special juggling challenge. The venue offers many outrageous sights such as a six-legged cow and a rare taxidermied albino giraffe.

Mother's Day has already swept social media sites on Friday, as Happy Mother's Day became a trending topic on Twitter. Many users are using the day to shed light on issues that affect women.
"This Mother's Day weekend, here's something to bear in mind: the US is one of only 5 countries that doesn't provide paid maternal leave," posted Donna.
Cody added, "Once I have a career I'm going to shower my mom with presents for every Mother's Day. Single moms really do deserve it all."
In other parts of the world, Mother's Day is celebrated in March. The day relates to Father's Day, which is celebrated in June.
