Motorola Bionic Review: Motorola Droid 4 Photos, Features Leaked Online
Images of and specs for the new Motorola Droid 4 leaked online Thursday via Droid Life, revealing an array of features that pump up this yet-to-be-released smartphone.
The phone apparently features a 4-inch display, which, as experts assume, will be the "Super AMOLED Advanced" display, a new type which was introduced in Oct. 2011 when Motorola announced their Droid RAZR smartphone. But the most exciting addition in Droid 4 is probably the 5-row, "illuminated" keyboard, which some enthusiasts called the best slide-out keyboard "ever seen on a smartphone," according to Droid Life.
The phone runs on Android 2.3.5 and, of course, 4G LTE.
"No word yet on processor, but will bet that it has at least the 1.2GHz OMAP4430 that the RAZR has," Droid Life insinuates.
Full specifications of the new phone, as listed by the tech website (these are not all of the phone's features, as these are not yet known), are:
• 4-inch screen (assuming Super AMOLED Advanced)
• Full 5-row "illuminated" keyboard
• RAZR styling
• 4G LTE
• Non-removable battery
• Android 2.3.5
• 1080p video recording (assuming 8MP)
• Front camera
• HDMI out
• MotoACTV syncing
In comparison, Motorola Droid 3 features a 4-inch qHD display, a 5-row keyboard and 27 percent faster multitasking performance over the DROID 2 Global thanks to its 1GHz dual-core TI OMAP chip, according to Phone Arena. The Droid 3 is also reportedly the first phone of Verizon capable of recording 1080p full HD videos with its 8-megapixel rear camera.
Meanwhile, the market is still buzzing after Motorola's Droid Razr, a smartphone version on its previous Razr phone set, became available for purchase Thursday. The smartphone, which is the slimmest on the market, is 7.1 mm thick. It carries an array of new features guaranteed to have consumers placing their orders as soon as possible, though one feature that will not be included on the new Razr is the Android operating system, Ice Cream Sandwich.
In a statement issued by Motorola, Chairman and CEO of Motorola Mobility Sanjay Jha said about the product: "Droid Razr by Motorola is a testament to the innovation and design possibilities that stem from a strong partnership between Motorola Mobility and Verizon Wireless. We set out to design the best smartphone on the planet and delivered Droid Razr, which is thinner, smarter, stronger than any device on the market."
