Motorola Droid Razr Release Date: Play Droid Extraction Game to Win a Droid Razr
Verizon Wireless is promoting its upcoming Motorola Droid Razr smartphone with a game and giveaway.
Winners of Verizon's Droid Extraction game will be eligible to win one of several Droid Razr handsets.
"To play, you have to use a claw to remove the DROID RAZR from its panel," said Phandroid technology website.
"There’s only one catch – there are a lot of security lasers preventing you from doing so. You have to time your drop just right but the lasers will get you almost every time,” Phandroid added.
To make the game easier, players can have their friends "like" the game on Facebook. “Liking” will also deactivate some of the lasers.
"I’m not sure if it’s possible to get the phone without hitting the lasers, but you can certainly try if you don’t feel like bugging your Facebook friends," Phandroid said.
On the game page, users can also pre-order the Droid Razr and find out more information about all the phones in the Droid line, including the Droid Bionic, Droid Charge and Droid 3.
The release date for the Droid Razr is Nov. 11 at 11:11 a.m.
The smartphone features a 1.2-GHz dual-core processor, 4.3-inch Super AMOLED advanced qHD display, 8-megapixel rear camera with 1080p video recording, HD front-facing camera, and a mobile hotspot support for up to eight Wi-Fi devices.
The Droid Razr will launch with Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread and is expected to receive an Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update in early 2012.
The Razr will retail for $299.99 with a two-year contract. Its full retail price, without a contract, is $649.
