Motorola Droid Razr Release Date: Verizon Set to Launch Super-Thin Smartphone in November
The Motorola Droid Razr is scheduled to launch on Nov. 11 on the Verizon network, the carrier has announced this week.
The Droid Razr has been touted to be the “world’s thinnest smartphone,” and Verizon customers have been eagerly waiting for the 11/11/11 launch date exclusive to their network.
The smartphone has been available to pre-order since the end of October, and is expected to be available for an upgrade to the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich when it is launched on the Samsung Galaxy Nexus.
The Droid Razr will likely retail at $299.99 with a two-year contract with Verizon.
It will come with a dual-core 1.2-GHz processor, 4.3-inch Super AMOLED advanced qHD display, 8-megapixel rear camera with 1080p video recording, HD front-facing camera, and a mobile hotspot support for up to eight Wi-Fi.
The super-thin device will be just 7.1mm thick.
The smartphone will reportedly launch using the Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread OS.
