Motorola Razr I Android 4.1, JellyBean Update Now Rolling Out
The Motorola Razr I Android 4.1, JellyBean update is now rolling out.
The software update is now available in France. It did not begin rolling out in the U.K. yet, even though that was where the device first launched.
JellyBean brings some improvements to the smartphone including enhancements to the Motorola launcher, smoothness of Project Butter and Google Now, and overall improved performance. Some users who have already downloaded the update have stated that it is very fast in comparison to Ice Cream Sandwich.

The updated Google Now lets users know what they will need for their day before they even ask. For example, if it's going to be a rainy day, the smartphone will inform the user and tell them to bring an umbrella. It will also redirect them on their routes to destinations in order to avoid heavy traffic caused by accidents and other issues. It will also provide them with the scores from their favorite sports teams from the previous night.
The software can be downloaded OTA (over-the-air) or by using Wi-Fi. The size of the update is 300MB so it might not be the best idea to download it using network data.
Motorola Razr I owners should receive a notification to perform the update. However, it can also be accessed by checking for it manually in the settings menu. The Android 4.1, JellyBean update for the Razr I should start rolling out in other countries in the coming weeks.
The Razr I launched last year and features an HD Super AMOLED 4.3-inch display with 1280x720 resolution. Other specifications include 8GB internal storage, a microSD card slot and an 8-megapixel camera. It also comes with NFC (near field communication).
The Android 4.1, JellyBean update is also available for the Droid Razr, Razr Maxx, Razr HD, and Razr HD Maxx. All of these smartphones are currently available on Verizon in the U.S. and the Razr HD features similar specs to the Razr I.
