Mouseketeer Ginny Tyler, Disney Voice Legend, Dies at 86 (VIDEO)
Mouseketeer and Disney voicing legend Ginny Tyler has died at the age of 86. She started as an original Mouseketeer and continued working for Disney, providing numerous voices for films including "The Sword In the Stone" and "Mary Poppins."
Tyler died of natural causes at a nursing home in Washington, her son Ty Fenton told The Los Angeles Times. She was incredibly adept at manipulating her voice and "could change it at a click of a finger," Tyler told the Issaquah Press in 2010. Her specialty was providing animal voices for Disney, which led to notable roles that Disney audiences are very familiar with.
She voiced two female squirrels in "The Sword in the Stone" and the voices of several barnyard animals who sang "Jolly Holiday" in the hit film, "Mary Poppins." Tyler then went on to provide voices for the films "Casper the Friendly Ghost" in 1963 and numerous female characters in the TV series "Davey and Goliath."

According to the Times, Tyler had a long-lasting love affair with the Disney Corporation and even received high praise from Walt Disney himself. As she told Walt how wonderful Disneyland was, Walt replied, "'That goes for my Disneyland storyteller, too.' I've never felt prouder," she said in 2006.
That was the same year Tyler received the honor of being inducted into Disney Legends, a hall-of-fame program for those who have impacted the Disney Corporation. She was so honored that she gave her acceptance speech in four voices: Minnie Mouse, Pinocchio, a squirrel from "Sword in the Stone" and an old witch.
She is survived by her two brothers, Don and Terry Eggers; two grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. In 1980, Tyler married Albert Jacobsen, and he died in 1995.
