'Mr. Mercedes' Season 1 Spoilers: Brady Outsmarts the Authorities in Penultimate Episode; Robi His Next Kill?

Detective Hodges (Brendan Gleeson) and company finally close in on Brady (Harry Treadaway) in the penultimate episode of "Mr. Mercedes" season 1.

In episode 9 titled "Ice Cream, You Scream, We All Scream," the police are working on finding Brady, who has caught wind of what has been happening just in time for him to devise a plan to get them off his tail.

In the promo for "Mr. Mercedes" season 1, episode 9, Brady announces his plans to "make a dent" in front of the decaying corpse of his mother, who bit the dust in the previous episode after she unknowingly consumed the poison-laced patties her son whipped up for Jerome's (Jharrel Jerome) dog.

The authorities ultimately find Brady, who was prepared for their arrival. In fact, he describes this experience as part of a "calm" night.

As the "Mr. Mercedes" season 1, episode 9 promo teases, Brady tricks them into thinking that he is inside an ice cream truck outside of his house by driving it remotely. He watches his plan of misdirection unfold as he expects from the comfort of his bedroom.

The synopsis for the season finale hints that he led them to believe he is no longer a threat to the city, but his urge to kill just gives it all away.

As "Mr. Mercedes" season 1 draws to a close, fans can expect more character deaths. It would not be a surprise if Robi (Robert Stanton) goes next as his worsening feud with Brady definitely earned him a spot on his hit list.

The promo shows he even gets a surprise visit from his nemesis in the upcoming installment and it is not much of a stretch to think this confrontation ends badly for Robi.
