'Mr. Robot' Season 1 Recap, Spoilers: Elliot Comes Across Some Shocking Discoveries; Episode 9 Spoilers Surface
The last week's showing of USA Network's critically-acclaimed drama TV series "Mr. Robot" dropped one of the most shocking twists.
Spoiler alert for those who missed the episode: Elliot discovered after an utterly awkward and embarrassing moment that Christian Slater's mysterious character is actually his father. Right before the big revelation, Elliot sat with Darlene where they both expressed their joys for what appears to be the success of fsociety's plan to bring down Evil Corp.
Ecstatic and driven by the desire to connect with someone, Elliot reached out to Darlene's face to kiss her after she told him "I love you, man." The female hacker backed off and was obviously disgusted for what just happened.
Darlene snapped at Elliot telling him that he's forgotten who she is again. A bewildered Elliot soon began to realize that her fsociety colleague is actually his sister.
This realization sent Elliot in a spiral. He began to doubt the knowledge he holds about himself. He checked online only to find no information about Elliot Alderson. He then grabbed for the disc binder and found a blank CD. After decrypting the file, he began to see Mr. Robot in all of the photos including the one with the whole family. He hears a knock on his door and was once again dumbfounded to see his father standing outside. Mr. Robot smiled and told Elliot they need to talk.
Tyrell Wellick, meanwhile, was traumatized about the murder. The once cold and scheming E Corp executive has now become paranoid and out of control. Adding to the stress was the persevering police detectives who want to question him.
Fortunately, he had his pregnant wife beside him who helped him got out of the mess, temporarily.
The promo video for the next episode titled "Stick to the Plan" (stylized) teased that Elliot is still coming to terms about his family. He is quite upset but Mr. Robot urges him to stay focus and stick to what has been planned.
"Mr. Robot" Season 1 airs Wednesdays at 10 p.m. on USA Network.
