MTV Cancels 'Teen Mom 2' Following Jenelle Evans Drama?

US cable network MTV is reportedly preparing to permanently axe it's controversial reality TV series "Teen Mom 2" in light of the recent chaos surrounding cast member Jenelle Evans.

The show, which follows the adult lives of four women who became pregnant in high school, has for years been accused of glamorizing teenage pregnancies. Evans, who critics have slammed over her behavior, has been garnering a series of bad press for the network which many believe is jeopardizing their image, according to The New York Post.

The 21-year-old has become renowned for her vicious cat fights and impending legal woes. In the space of 12 months, Evans has managed to lose custody of her 3-year-old son Jayce, marry and divorce Courtland Rogers months after meeting him, suffer a miscarriage and reconcile with her former fiance after having him arrested for alleged assault.

The reality TV star, who joined the show in 2009, has also struggled with drug abuse. Her constant tweeting and subsequent airing of her dirty laundry appears to be increasing complaints from viewers.

"Jenelle is nothing but bad publicity for MTV," Ashley Majeski, who is editor of TheAshleysRealityRoundup.com, told The Post.

"She feeds off the public and the recognition of the fans, and I don't see why they would want to have anything to do with that," she added.

The network is yet to confirm when exactly the show will be canceled and The Post claims this is due to cast members not yet being informed about the decision.

Evans is not the only cast member to threaten the network's image. In 2012, former cast mate Amber Portwood was forced to leave after being sentenced to serve a 5-year jail sentence stemming from a December 2011 arrest.

Like Evans, 22-year-old Portwood faced a series of legal woes. However, hers stemmed from being caught with drugs and failing to complete a court-ordered rehab program. The single mom is currently in jail serving her sentence.
