Music Industry Veteran Launches Southside Entertainment
Behind-the-scenes veteran Cheryl Anteau announced yesterday the launch of her new artist management company, Southside Entertainment. The company will provide comprehensive artist management services focused on overall strategic career growth, including emphases on tour marketing and day-to-day services for artists.
Ive been privileged to work with some of the most talented artists and professionals in the music industry, and I look forward to continuing to serve my clients while helping them better fulfill their mission, says Anteau, who has managed such artists as Steven Curtis Chapman and dcTalk. My commitment is to provide efficient, innovative and strategic support that meets the needs of the individual artist. Those needs may be different for every client, and I believe in tailoring our services to create the most effective support system available for each artist.
Tour marketing services will include strategic market-by-market consultation with concert promoters, national advertising, Web-based promotions, direct-to-consumer advertising and management of tour imaging. The company will also partner with established media/publicity contacts to provide national and regional tour publicity efforts.
Cheryl has built trusted relationships within the artist management community and with concert promoters across the country, comments Brickhouse Entertainments Scott Brickell (MercyMe, Audio Adrenaline). She knows the business of touring inside and out, and is an invaluable resource when it comes to marketing any tour. I know we will continue to work together for years to come.
Cheryl was a crucial part of our team for both The Jesus Freak and The Supernatural tours with dc talk, says True Artist Managements Laurie Anderson (dcTalk, tobyMac, Tait). Her skills and commitment make her a wise investment for any tour budget!
Also highlighted at Southside are individualized, day-to-day services for artists, which include travel and financial needs, website/fan club administration, show advancement and more, with services being available on a project-by-project basis.
Ive spent much of my career juggling day-to-day responsibilities for many artists, and I have the know-how to get the job done efficiently while working with budgets of all shapes and sizes, Cheryl says. I believe many management companies can benefit by having these kinds of supplemental services available at their fingertips.
Ive known Cheryl for almost eight years, and Ive found her to be one of the true gems in this industry, says Gotee Records President Joey Elwood. I would recommend her to any artist who is looking for honest, earnest, effective, and experienced management. She is a perfect example of relentlessness that doesnt overstep, intelligence that doesnt get overplayed, and sincerity that isnt oversold.
Anteau recently spent four years at Alabaster Arts, Inc., where she managed artists like Ginny Owens, Sarah Kelly and Paul Colman Trio, and was responsible for marketing successful tours like Jennifer Knapps Back Forty tour and the 2003/2004 multi-artist See Spot Rock tour, voted by CCM Magazine readers as the Best Live Tour of 2003. Anteau also spent five years at True Artist Management, working closely with artists like dcTalk and Audio Adrenaline. Anteau graduated from Belmont University in 1991 with a B.B.A., specializing in music business. Her music industry career has also included posts at Gotee Records and Franklin Management Group.
