Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt Becoming Dictatorship, Says Founder of the Free Egyptians Party

Naguib Sawiris, an Egyptian businessman and founder of the Free Egyptians Party, denounced the Muslim Brotherhood's dominating rule on Egypt and its control of the people through a fascist, unjust dictatorship.

Sawiris said it is not reasonable for the Muslim Brotherhood to monopolize rule, especially as it was late to join the revolution.

Through his Twitter account Sawiris denied any relationship with Orascom Construction Industries. He rebuked the rumors that are being hatched against him by the Muslim Brotherhood by alleging that the company is his subsidiary and a means of tax evasion.

"I have nothing to do with Orascom and it is not evading taxes, but was exempt by law at the time and it has paid [taxes] to Egypt," Sawiris added.

Talaat Abdullah, Egypt's Prosecutor-General, issued a decision to ban Onsi Sawiris, chairperson of Orascom Construction Industries, and Nassef Sawiris, executive director of the company, from travel and arrest them should they enter Egypt.

On April 30, the prosecutor-general decided to cancel the previous decision after Mamdouh Omar, head of the Egyptian Revenue Authority, said the decision to prevent the Sawiris family from travel was issued by the Prosecutor General and not at the request of the authority. Subsequently, the Sawiris family returned from France on May 3.
