'My Hero Academia' Season 3 Air Date, Spoilers: League of Villains to Target Bakugo in Upcoming 'School Trip' Arc

Deku and the rest of the up-and-coming superheroes at U.A. High will be returning for a third season, and the hero-versus-villain rivalry is about to heat up.

Season 2 concluded with the end of the first semester at U.A. High as well as with the official announcement of the series' eventual return for season 3. Fans were treated to a 15-second clip following the season 2 finale that aired last Saturday, Sept. 30. The clip was narrated by All Might, All For One, and the main protagonist, Deku, and teased the upcoming new conflict between the young superheroes and the new recruits of the League of Villains.

Fans who have been following the manga series created by Kouhei Horikoshi from which the anime series is based, know the recently concluded Final Exams arc will be followed by the highly action-packed School Trip arc. In it, the students of Class 1-A will be sent off to a summer training camp at the Forest of Magic Beasts, which will eventually be interrupted by the arrival of the League of Villains.

The League's main goal is to take Bakugo away with them, something that they will be able to do much to the other students' distress. This will lead Deku and the rest of Class 1-A to come up with the best plan in order to get Bakugo back, even if it seems like a hopeless case.

The second season's final two episodes brought two new villains into the scene, Toga and Dabi. They pose an additional layer to Shigaraki's already burning desire to bring the heroes down, specifically All Might, and thus make a name for himself and his League of Villains.

The anime adaptation was first aired in 2016 and currently has an overall total of 38 episodes. More details about the upcoming third season will be revealed as the release date approaches on the series' official site as well as on its official Twitter account.
