'Narcos' Season 2 to End with Pablo Escobar's Death?
"Narcos" season 2 will reportedly be aired in August 2016 and there are talks that the story will feature the end of drug lord Pablo Escobar.
In the finale of "Narcos" season 1, "king of cocaine" Pablo Escobar managed to escape into the woods and DEA agent Steve Murphy vowed to catch him dead. The second installment of the American drama series will be based on real-life events and will feature a concerted effort from various government agencies to bring down the drug lord, according to a Kpop Starz report cited by K Drama Stars.
After Escobar escaped from the claws of the DEA, the U.S. Navy Seal, Delta Force, and ISA will form a search group called Search Block in a bid to put a stop to his criminal activities. Search block will be able to milk information from Escobar's arch-rival Cali Cartel that will lead to his capture. He may even get killed toward the end of the series, Youth Health Mag reports.
Season 1 went by quickly, and Escobar's death in season 2's finale will be an expected turn. But there are reports that the series can still be stretched if producers will add the events that transpired after the infamous drug lord died.
In "Narcos" season 2, Wagner Moura will still portray drug kingpin Pablo Escobar, while Boyd Holbrook will play the role of DEA agent Steve Murphy. Joanna Christie will be Connie Murphy and Pedro Pascal will portray Javier Pena, the report details.
"Narcos" director Jose Padilha gave a sneak peek into the next season of the American crime drama series. The Brazilian director said the plot will focus on the Medellin cartel's formation and the lives of small-time criminals.
The second season of "Narcos" will narrate how the two groups accidentally discovered a so-called perfect product. It will also shed light on how cocaine entered America and eventually wreaked havoc upon the country. What distinguishes the series from other drug crime stories is that the story will be told from an American perspective, said Padilha, as quoted by iSchoolGuide.
"Narcos" season 2 is expected to premiere in either summer or fall of 2016.
