'Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker' News: No Story Mode Expected To Be Provided

Devs focusing more on the avatar system in the upcoming game

"Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker" is adding something very significant that "Naruto" fans have not really been able to experience before, and they may also be losing something that has been a key component of earlier games featuring the familiar ninja.

TGN Anime's "Globku" recently had an opportunity to chat with producer Niino Noriaki about the upcoming game, and as it turns out, this new offering is going to lack a specific mode.

Upon being asked if there will be a narrative-driven mode included in the game, Noriaki shared that there is no story mode.

Instead, what players are going to get is a Ninja League, and while participating in this, players can compete online with other fans.

Some fans have already expressed their disappointment upon learning that "Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker" is not going to include a true Story Mode.

Notably, there are also fans who are okay with the idea of a Story Mode being omitted.

It is unclear why developers have opted to not provide a Story Mode this time around, but there are still things players can do inside the game even if there is no narrative to guide them.

For instance, "Shinobi Striker" is going to allow players to create their own in-game avatars.

As developers noted previously, the avatar system is a first for the "Naruto" series.

Players will be able to select and adjust specific elements of their avatar's appearance until they get the look they want. From there, players can join in battles using their avatars and pick up a few things along the way that should turn them into even more formidable fighters.

It also seems as though there will be different abilities that avatars can use in the game, and players may be able to choose the ones they like.

The lack of a Story Mode may disappoint some fans but the addition of the avatar system may be able to make up for that.

"Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker" is expected to be released early next year.
