Nas Sued for $10 Million by Concert Promoter Claiming Kidnapping
Nas is allegedly being sued for $10 million by a concert promoter who claims he was kidnapped because the rapper did not show up for one of his scheduled performances. The promoter now believes that he is due $10 million in damages for what he went through.
Concert promoter, Patrick Allocco has claimed that he was kidnapped in Angola after the popular rapper was a no show at a New Year's Eve concert in December 2011. He also alleges that the $300,000 performance fee was already paid to the rapper.
Allocco has alleged that he was abducted for 50 days, during which time he was constantly threatened and tortured. According to celebrity news website TMZ, Allocco has said that both he and his son were in fact kidnapped, claiming that they were abducted by men working for a local concert promoter.
The lawsuit was filed by Allocco on Friday, with the promoter claiming that he has suffered sustained psychological, physical and financial injury from the incident. He has also claimed in court filings that he lost his home as well as his company in the incident, according to the New York Daily News.
Allocco maintains that Nas received $300,000 in advance for the performance. However, despite taking the alleged fee, Allocco says that Nas did not show up as contracted, but instead went to Miami, Florida instead to attend a New Year's Eve engagement party with NBA basketball player Le Bron James.
