National Chocolate Cake Day Today, Americans Celebrate

National Chocolate Cake Day offers chocolate lovers everywhere a chance to celebrate their favorite flavor on Monday, Jan. 27.

The annual celebration arrives during the cold winter months and well after the food-filled holiday season, giving people a reason to take to start baking and sharing with friends and family.

Each year on National Chocolate Cake Day, many people opt for baking their own chocolate cakes either from scratch or a box, such as Duncan Hines Moist Deluxe Chocolate Fudge Cake mix. However, chocolate cake remains a staple in bakeries across the U.S., and some stores even offer cake exclusively, such as the famed cakeries Crumbs, Baked By Melissa and Sprinkles.
