NBA News 2015: Former Clippers owner Donald Sterling loses appeal to reverse $2B sale of team

Former Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling will not be getting his team back, after a local court denied his attempt to reverse the team's $2 billion sale.

In a report by NBA.com, the second district Court of Appeal in California ruled that Sterling failed to show a legal error by a Los Angeles judge who approved of the said transaction in 2014.

According to another report by Fortune.com, Sterling was said to have shown signs of Alzheimer's disease, granting his estranged wife Shelly full control of the team. She eventually sold it to Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer for $2 billion. The report adds that Sterling also has pending cases filed against his wife, the NBA, and the doctor who gave the diagnosis.

The 81-year old billionaire got in trouble in 2014, after he was heard making racist remarks against African-Americans in a recorded message. NBA commissioner David Silver has since slapped him with a lifetime ban.

Meanwhile, Indiana Pacers Center Myles Turner is expected to be out for six weeks, following a thumb injury. In a report by CBS Sports, the 19-year old player had surgery to repair the fracture on his thumb on Monday. He suffered the said injury on Wednesday, when his team played the Boston Celtics.

The Pacers ended up winning with a score of 102-91.

According to head coach Frank Vogel, Turner's absence is quite a blow to the team, considering the work he has put in, so far.

"It stinks. The kid just works so hard and he was really going every day," he said. "I'm just excited to see him out there every time he plays. I'm excited to teach him on the defensive end and watch the activity level that he has."

Turner has been averaging 7.0 points per game, 3.3 rebounds, and 1.0 blocks through 18 minutes of play on 55.3 per cent field goal shooting.
