NBA News 2015: LeBron James, Tim Duncan set respective NBA records

Two NBA veterans have set respective league records.

According to a report by SB Nation, San Antonio Spurs Tim Duncan now officially holds the record for most wins by a single player for a single team. "The Big Fundamental" has 954 wins with the Spurs, surpassing the likes of Boston Celtics trio Kevin McHale, Robert Parish, and Larry Bird who have racked up a total of 541 wins.

Duncan was drafted by first overall by the San Antonio Spurs in 1997, and has been its franchise player ever since. Along the way, he has won two Most Valuable Player awards, three NBA Finals MVP Awards, and 15 NBA All-Star appearances.

He was also able to lead the Spurs to five NBA titles, with the most recent one during the 2014-2015 season. On Sunday, the 39-year old Duncan, along with teammates Manu Ginobili and Tony Parker set the new record when they defeated the New York Knicks 94-84, at the Madison Square Garden.

The other player who was able to set his own record is LeBron James, who recently became the youngest NBA player to score 25,000 career points.

In a report by Eric Freeman of Yahoo! Sports, "King James'" sealed the deal through an alley-oop from Matthew Dellavedova at the 8:10 mark of the fourth period during the Cleveland Cavaliers' game against the Philadelphia 76ers. The Cavs won, 107-100.

The 30-year old James was able to surpass Kobe Bryant's record when he set the same record in 2010, at 31 years old. For his part, James credited the people around him, particularly his teammates and coaches, for being able to accomplish such a feat.

"It just means that I play with a lot of great teammates and coaches that have allowed me to be in a position to be successful on the floor. "I have been around some great groups and can reap a lot of benefits."

The Cavaliers are slated to face the New York Knicks on Wednesday night.
