NBA News 2015: Stephen Curry, Paul George Named 'Players Of The Month'; Kyrie Irving Set To Return From Injury Layoff

Golden State Warriors star point guard Stephen Curry and Indiana Pacers forward Paul George have been named "Players of the Month" for December. Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Kyrie Irving has also been given the medical clearance to get back to practice.

According to a report by NBA.com, both Curry and George were given the award, based on the numbers they put up for the months of October and November.

For his part, Curry, the reigning Most Valuable Player for the 2014-2015 season, has been the main driving force for the Warriors' current 22-0 start.

At the time the "Players of the Month" had been announced, Curry was averaging 31.6 points per game, ranking first in the league in scoring. He also made a total of 94 three-pointers in the season alone, and has hit 42 more than any other player for the said months. He shot and made 77 three-pointers in November alone.

As of December 3, he was also putting up 51.2 percent in field goal numbers and 94.1 percent from the free throw stripe. He scored at least 40 points five times already. His season-high record was during the Warriors' 134-120 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans on October 31st, where he scored 53 points.

George, on the other hand, is ranked number four in the NBA's scoring list for this season, where he is averaging 27.2 points per game as of Dec. 3. During that same time period, he had also put up numbers in the rebounding department with 8.1 per game 4.4 assists per game, and 1.6 steals, through 35.6 minutes of play. The Pacers big man was able to score at least 20 points in 12 straight games last month, which is the longest of his career.

His season high performance was when he scored 40 points during the Pacers' 123-106 win over the Washington Wizards on November 24th.

Meanwhile, Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Kyrie Irving is looking to come back and play with teammates soon. In a report by CBS Sports, the 23-year old athlete has been given clearance, but no date of his return has been set.

Irving injured his left kneecap during the 2015 NBA Finals in June.
