NBA Playoffs 2016: Boston Celtics vs. Atlanta Hawks Game 5 Preview
The first round playoff series between the Atlanta Hawks and Boston Celtics is currently tied, with an overall tally of 2-2.
Game five will be held on Tuesday, April 26th, at the Philips Arena in Atlanta.
The fourth-seeded Hawks were able to draw first blood in their first game last April 16th, ending the game with a final score of 102-101. Big man Al Horford led his team in scoring, ending the contest with 24 points and 12 rebounds.
Point guard Jeff Teague and small forward Kent Bazemore both ended with 23 points, apiece.
Atlanta was able to carry on with their winning ways in Game two last April 19th, as they finished the night with a final tally of 89-72. Horford and shooting guard Kyle Korver ended the game with 17 points each, while Teague was the team's second leading scorer with 13 points.
The Celtics managed to bounce back in Game three last April 22nd, when the game shifted to the TD Garden in Boston. The Green & White team ended the contest with a final score of 111-103. Point guard Isaiah Thomas put on a performance of his life, as he finished the game with a career-high 42 points.
Shooting guard Evan Turner was the second highest contributor with 17 points. Boston then tied the series in Game four last April 24th, as they finished the night with a final score of 104-95.
Thomas was once again the leading scorer for his team, ending the game with 28 points, along with four rebounds and six assists, shooting 11 out of 23 from the field, through 43 minutes of playing time. Point guard
Marcus Smart also scored big with 20 points, and he was congratulatory of his teammate's performance.
"Isaiah did a heck of a job, the way they were guarding him, still being able to penetrate and find guys. I was one of the guys on the end of that," he said. "When I was that wide open and Isaiah doing all that work, I had to make the shot."
