NBA Trade Rumors for 2016-17 NBA Season: Noel to Pelicans, Davis to Warriors, Faried to Cavaliers
Fans are excited about the upcoming NBA regular season. NBA trade rumors continue to spread like wildfire, a sure indication of the excitement surrounding the league even in this off-season. The following are the latest NBA trade rumors for 2016-17 NBA Season.
1. Nerlens Noel to New Orleans Pelicans
Anthony Davis of the New Orleans Pelicans is one of the most talented big men in the league. Last season, he averaged 24.3 points, 10.3 rebounds and 2.0 blocks per game. In his 4 years with NBA though, he has only been to the post-season once.
To be a Western Conference contender, the Pelicans need to have another strong, ideally defensive-minded player. And with the Sixers' log jam in the front court making news all over, getting Nerlens Noel to play for New Orleans could be the answer.
According to Sportsrageous, a particular trade between the Sixers and the Pelicans that could work is Quincy Poindexter, Tyreke Evans and a 2017 1st round draft pick to the Sixers, and Nerlens Noel to the New Orleans Pelicans.
CBS Sports writer Zach Harper said, "If you're the Pelicans, who don't exactly mind giving away first-round picks in trades, you do this for one pretty obvious reason: Pairing Noel with Anthony Davis probably gives them the most menacing defensive front court in the NBA."
2. Anthony Davis to Golden State Warriors
Anthony Davis is involved in another trade rumor; this time, he will be shipped to the Golden State Warriors. According to recent rumors, the Warriors might trade Shaun Livingston and Draymond Green to get the star forward out of New Orleans.
A trade consisting of the above-mentioned players is possible, at least according to the Trade Machine feature of ESPN. A trio consisting of Durant, Curry and Davis would easily rank as the best among NBA teams in the upcoming regular season.
Davis can contribute on both ends of the court, but the Warriors would most likely look to take advantage of his defensive prowess in the front court; something that the Warriors could have more of given their current line-up.
3. Kenneth Faried to Cleveland Cavaliers
Kenneth Faried of the Denver Nuggets has been the subject of many trade rumors this off-season. He has been linked to the Toronto Raptors and just recently, it is said that the Cleveland Cavaliers are interested in him as well.
Faried averaged 12.5 points, 8.7 rebounds, and 0.9 blocks per game.
A trade between the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Denver Nuggets might involve Kevin Love, who is said to not have the easiest time playing with LeBron James and Kyrie Irving. With Love's talents though, especially when it comes to spreading the floor with his range, it seems that this trade is a win-win situation for both teams involved.
