NBA Trade Rumors: New York Knicks May Finally Be Sticking to Their Rebuilding Plan This Time

Knicks' president Steve Mills recently indicated that the franchise is not interested in dealing their young players

To say that the New York Knicks have had some tumultuous past seasons would be putting things very mildly.

Stability has been lacking in the organization in recent years, and the previous people in charge also struggled to follow any kind of coherent plan that could lead to sustainable success.

At long last, however, there may be hope that better days are ahead and that the franchise is finally focusing on a rebuilding plan and sticking to it.

After rumors came out recently linking the Knicks to the Phoenix Suns' Eric Bledsoe, there were some fans fearing that the franchise may trade some of their younger and more talented players for someone already in his prime.

Such a move could have improved the Knicks for this season, but it also could have lowered their ceiling.

Now, Knicks fans seemingly no longer have to worry about that risky move being made.

While addressing members of the media recently, New York Knicks President Steve Mills assured fans that rookie Frank Ntilikina and second-year player Willy Hernangomez will be staying with the team moving forward, the New York Post reported.

Ntilikina, Hernangomez and burgeoning star Kristaps Porzingis are regarded as the foundational players for the Knicks, and Mills indicated that the franchise is committed to their further development and improvement.

The franchise's investment in Porzingis is already paying off handsomely, as the young Latvian has gotten off to a red-hot start this season, posting career highs in scoring and shooting percentage through the team's first few games, per Basketball-Reference.

Ntilikina and Hernangomez have been unable to put up their own impressive stat lines up to this point, but they will be given many opportunities to do so as the season continues.

For quite some time now, chaos has described the state of the Knicks, but with the franchise saying and showing that they have a plan they are sticking to, things may finally be turning around.
