NBA Trade Rumors: Why the Phoenix Suns Have Not Moved Eric Bledsoe Just Yet

Suns have been looking to trade Bledsoe ever since the point guard seemingly expressed a desire to no longer be with the team

The Phoenix Suns and Eric Bledsoe are expected to part ways, but the fact that it has not happened already may be surprising a few fans.

For those who need a bit of a refresher, not long after the Suns got off to a shaky start, Bledsoe seemingly expressed a desire to no longer be with the team via Twitter.

Not long after that tweet became the topic of conversation in NBA circles, Suns' general manager Ryan McDonough revealed that Bledsoe was no longer expected to remain with the team moving forward, ESPN reported.

The Suns have made it pretty clear that they intend to trade Bledsoe. And yet, several days have passed and no deal has been made.

Has the team had a change of heart? Have the Suns and Bledsoe made up?

That does not appear to be the case.

Instead, the main reason for why Bledsoe is still with the Suns may simply be because the franchise is not done probing the trade market for good offers.

As McDonough told AZCentral previously, the franchise is "open to doing a deal whenever the best offer presents itself."

The Suns are in no rush to move Bledsoe, which makes sense given that dealing him represents one of the best ways for the franchise to secure a valuable asset or two.

There may be some decent offers available now, but with so much time remaining before the trade deadline, the Suns can continue to sit back and see how things unfold before they make their move.

While some teams may be unwilling to part with some decent assets now, things may change if players get injured.

Furthermore, there may still be teams in the league trying to understand their place in the hierarchy before doing anything significant. If some of the surprising teams continue to either overperform or underperform in the weeks and months ahead, then perhaps they may become open to bringing a new player like Bledsoe to either help sustain their success or stop their struggles.

The Suns and Bledsoe may still be linked together, but at this point, that may just be a temporary arrangement, and one that figures to end soon enough.
