'NCIS: Los Angeles' Season 9 Episode 5 Spoilers: Squad Takes on a Russian Mob
Callen (Chris O'Donnell) and the squad will face off with a dangerous Russian mob in the upcoming episode of "NCIS: Los Angeles."
In the episode titled "Mountebank," the synopsis reveals that the new case the NCIS will handle revolves around the murder of a prominent investment banker. Upon his death, it will be exposed that he has strong ties with a Russian oligarch. The investigation will soon lead the squad to the doorstep of a gang. Sam (LL Cool J) will reportedly go undercover and pose as a day trader.
The promo shows the moment before the banker's car was hit by a speeding truck. Both Sam and Callen are in the scene of the crime. They believe that what happened was no accident. Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) and Kensi (Daniela Ruah) will be sent to interrogate potential suspects. One Russian, Arkady Kolcheck (Vyto Ruginis), is shown warning them that they are not safe since they are messing with a dangerous mob. The man looks like a rich don with his paisley robe and bevy of scantily clad girls.
The clip also shows Deeks flexing his muscles in a sleazy club. He is obviously looking for more information about the case. Soon enough, the LAPD detective will find out that the case will not be easy to solve. As Kolcheck has said, people are coming after their throats, and they must be careful.
Elsewhere, Mosley (Nia Long) feels that they are on the brink of a huge crisis. She is shown ordering her team to back off from the investigation. Although Sam and Callen think she is right, they might not follow her command.
In the last episode, the team saw Mosley at work when she joined them in investigating a case. A cache of weapons amounting to $1 million was stolen. She, Sam and Callen went undercover and attended a charity event to investigate. The case was successful after they manage to prevent a planned assassination.
"NCIS: Los Angeles" airs Sundays, at 9 p.m. EDT on CBS.
