'NCIS' Season 12 News: Diane Neal and Len Gorn to Recur in Upcoming Season, DiNozzo to Get a New Love Interest?
A very familiar face will be making her way back to "NCIS" on the show's upcoming season.
Diane Neal is reported to come back to reprise her role as CGIS Special Agent Abigail Borin. This news was confirmed by series regular Pauley Perrette on Twitter.
Agent Borin's reappearance could have something to do with a case wherein the Navy and the Coast Guard have to work together, according to Cartermatt.
Meanwhile, Len Gorn, who is best known for his role in "The Americans," will appear on season 12 as Russian Deputy Ambassador Anton Yelic. It looks like McGee and Gibbs will be working with Yelic as they set foot in Russia in an attempt to extricate a key source, and this is where they'll cross paths with a new antagonist, played by Alex Veadov.
In other news, it seems as though Agent DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly) will be getting a new love interest on the show with the addition of Leia Pendergrast (Stephanie Jacobsen) to the team. Her character is described as an attractive and single FBI Special Agent who will be partnered with DiNozzo.
Though DiNozzo and Ziva shippers won't be pleased with DiNozzo getting attracted to the newbie, "NCIS" show creator Gary Glasberg said "it's time for Tony to grow a little bit."
"He went through a lot last year emotionally and tried to deal with Ziva's departure as best as he could," said the show runner to TV Line. "And it's time for someone new. We'll be mature and handle it properly, and Michael's excited about it."
"NCIS" Season 12 will premiere on Sept. 23 on CBS.
