'NCIS' season 13 episode 2 spoilers and pilot episode recap: Gibbs survives
On the next episode of "NCIS" entitled "Personal Day," the official synopsis reads, NCIS assists a DEA agent on a drug-running case that keeps going cold, after Gibbs agrees to help a friend who shares a tragic past. Meanwhile, the team gossips about Gibbs' new look after he replaces his standard military haircut and polo shirt with a modern cut and tailored dress shirt.
In the preview for the episode, fans will get to see a different side of Agent Gibbs as he sports a new look that will surprise and shock the rest of the team. Gibbs has changed significantly since his near-death experience and everyone is worried about him. The episode will explore more about Gibbs and where his head is at.
The episode began where the previous season left off. Gibbs had been shot by Luke Harris and he was brought to a naval ship by Tony and Joanna. Doctor Cyril tended to Gibbs and saved his life.

Gibbs had a strange vision of Mike Franks and his daughter Kelly. The rest of the team is informed about what happened to Gibbs. Gibbs drifted in and out while on the operating table. Tony and Joanna continued to hunt down The Calling.
Present day, Tim and Bishop were looking for leads when Gibbs entered the bullpen. Tim informed Gibbs that Tony and Joanna had been on an assignment in Shanghai. Vance offered Gibbs some desk work since he was advised by his doctor not to do anything too stressful.
Tony and Joanna followed up on a lead given to them by one of Joanna's CIA contacts. This led them to warehouse where they found a lot of kids, including Luke Harris. Luke surrendered after he apologized to Gibbs. Tony contacted Daniel Budd and he ended up killing the leader of The Calling. The episode ends with Gibbs as he met up with Doctor Cyril at the diner.
