On the next episode of "NCIS" entitled "Lockdown," the official synopsis reads, "Abby is held hostage when armed men take over a pharmaceutical lab where she is visiting to talk to a doctor about a murder investigation."
In the preview for the episode, it seems that Abby will be in the spotlight this time around and fans will get to see a different side to Abby as she negotiates for the hostages. Abby being held hostage will undoubtedly bring out some emotions from the team particularly Gibbs and McGee. Abby will end up there because of a murder case.
The preceding episode began with a man as he entered a shop and robbed the place by using a fake grenade. Later on, the man was identified as a seaman apprentice named Dokes and he was found on the side of the road.
Dokes was given a brutal beating and the team looked into possible motives. Later on, a man from Vance's past named Kip Klugman resurfaced. He claimed to have information on their dead man. Vance refused to believe what he said.
Later that night, Klugman was beaten and he claimed that Vance was the one who did it. He was planning to sue Vance — thanks to his new lawyer. His lawyer happened to be the one who was represting Kobe, a man who was running an illegal gambling operation that used a store as a front.
Vance teamed up with Gibbs, in order to discover the truth. Vance's job was put at risk when the secretary of the navy threatened Vance with retirement. Abby discovered a tracking device in the money bag and this led the team back to Kobe.
The team discovered that it was Kobe's security guard that was helping Klugman along with his lawyer. Vance and Gibbs tracked Klugman down and Klugman ended up getting arrested for trying to kill a federal agent.
Vance realized why he left the field and he got to keep his position as the director of NCIS.
