'Need for Speed: Payback' Devs Take Feedback to Heart, Improves Game's Progression Systems
Ghost Games has increased the REP and Bank rewards in "Need for Speed: Payback" after being hit with criticism for the game's loot crates and progression systems.
This is the same controversy that "Star Wars Battlefront 2" was recently embroiled in, but the developer made sure that things do not go out of hand.
Ghost Games took to Reddit to detail the changes they made on "Need for Speed: Payback" for gamers to enjoy heftier incentives:
We've been using Community feedback, along with our own in-game data and have come up with a number of changes, many of which are in the process of going live. Our aim with these changes is to make the progression, especially around the ownership of cars a much more enjoyable experience.
As part of the tweaks, "Need for Speed: Payback" will now reward players with increased REP and Bank rewards when they take part in events. The same goes for bait crates and competing against a Roaming Racer, the non-playable drivers on the map who can be challenged anytime.
Gamers will also get "slightly increased" REP and Bank payout by just completing an event even if they don't win it. Finally, Air Suspension is adjusted to be available to players more frequently within Shipments.
Today's changes are just phase one and we have further tweaks coming. Coming shortly will be some changes to the way tune-up shops work, especially around the quality / level of parts they stock. More on that soon.
Ghost Games also promised that the slow-loading textures in the PlayStation 4 version of "Need for Speed: Payback" will also be addressed "soon."
The developer, however, had nothing to say yet with regards to free roaming in "Need for Speed: Payback" as well as the addition of more variety of events on multiplayer including drifting and drag racing.
