Netflix is reportedly looking to sweep Frank Underwood, and Kevin Spacey by connection, under a rug for the final run of "House of Cards." According to reports, the show's scripts are currently being revised to focus on Claire (Robin Wright), which partly explains the suspension of the series.
According to sources, Netflix has put "House of Cards" on hold to give writers more time to steer the final season of the show to a new direction that has less Frank and more Claire in it. The show will end in its sixth season in this manner, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
"They shut it down to figure out how to write him out," an insider said, sharing a peek behind the embargo brought on by the suspension of the show. It would be a complete rework of the show's scripts that have already been written out almost to the end, according to sources.

There is also speculation that Claire would become the centerpiece of the show as it wraps up by Season 6.
Aside from the hiatus, Netflix has not yet officially announced anything else about "House of Cards" since the streaming service has canceled the show, following allegations that Kevin Spacey has sexually harassed Anthony Rapp when he was just 14 at the time, according to TV Line.
The "Star Trek" actor is just one of several employees who levied accusations against Spacey. It has been a tense situation for Netflix and Media Rights Capital, as they look at bringing a swift close to "House of Cards" to deal with the situation that has left them "deeply troubled."
For now, Netflix has not shared their plans for possible "House of Cards" spinoffs. "We will continue to work with MRC during this hiatus time to evaluate our path forward as it relates to the production, and have nothing further to share at this time," was all the streaming service had to say in their statement on Thursday, Nov. 2.
