Never Trained to Do So, Hero Dog Uses iPhone to Save Owner's Life

Credit :

U.S. Marine Terry McGlade served in Iraq and Afghanistan, but his life was at risk once again after he collapsed from a seizure in his Zanesville, Ohio home. His dog Major, a labrador-retriever pit bull mix, is trained to sense when his owner is about to have a seizure or experience anxiety related to PTSD.

When his owner fell, Major pulled McGlade's iPhone from his pocket and stepped on the screen, activating the phone's emergency call function. Shockingly, the dog was never trained to do that.

After receiving several calls from McGlade's phone without a coherent response, 911 dispatchers sent help, which Major met in front of the house. The Marine spent a night in the hospital and is now back home with his dog by his side.
