New Generation Discovers Christian Music
The Christian and Gospel music market has made a shift toward the younger generation as was revealed by album sales in 2004.
While there were no boost in sales of Christian music, more people have flocked over to the rock, alternative, hip-hop, and urban side -- genres popular among youths.
Switchfoot had the best selling album with "The Beautiful Letdown" and Casting Crowns and MercyMe followed closely on the album sales charts.
With a shift towards the more youth-appealing styles, Gospel Music Association President John Styll said that a new generation has discovered Christian and Gospel music.
