'New Girl' Season 6 Episode 18 Spoilers: Principal Day Wants to Be Popular with Students in 'Young Adult'
Newly promoted Lofties Jess (Zooey Deschanel) and Schmidt (Max Greenfield) hit a snag in their newfound authority in the next episode of "New Girl."
After almost backing out of her first day as principal in the previous episode, Jess will gradually settle into her new role. She'll also be growing more and more concerned, as she's wont to do, about what the students think of her as their new principal. In wanting to become a cool principal, Jess will bring Nick (Jake Johnson) and a stack of his book "The Pepperwood Chronicles" which didn't sell during his first book-reading event.
Probably thinking of how the teen member of the audience was the only one who bought the book with hearts in her eyes for Nick, Jess hoped to get the same reaction from her students by inviting Nick to a book-reading event at the school's library. Will Nick win the kids over with his humongous novel? But what could he and Jess be arguing about in the official promo for the next episode?

Jess tells Nick that between the adults and the kids in the room, they, the adults were in the biggest trouble. Nick then quips, "But they started it!"
What could've gone wrong in what was supposed to be a simple gathering honoring the masterpiece that is "The Pepperwood Chronicles"? Could the kids be criticizing Nick's book in ways that his writing has never been criticized before? He did once say that the reason why he wasn't sending his novel to any publisher was because he didn't want it to be rejected, and thus put an end to his dream.
How will he handle a room full of seemingly critical young adults reviewing his book face to face? Will he let it dampen his mood or use the feedback as motivation to make his novel even better?
Meanwhile, Schmidt will be hiring an aggressive new assistant who might not be as different from how he was, or still is, at work. And Winston's (Lamorne Morris) heart will break when Furguson may have been two-timing him, but with whom or what, still remains a mystery.
