New 'Just Cause 3' Trailer Shows Explosive Gameplay (VIDEO)
A new trailer for "Just Cause 3" showcased explosive gameplay in the middle of the protagonist's mission.
Avalanche and Square Enix have recently released a new gameplay trailer for their upcoming action-adventure video game, "Just Cause 3," showing the main protagonist, Rico Rodriguez, in the middle of an action-filled sequence during a mission.
Using a wingsuit to travel through the air, the game's hero, Rico, shows himself to be as grapple-happy as in the previous installments, employing his grappling hook to cobble vehicles together in his mission to rescue a victim from the clutches of a controlling dictator, General Di Ravello.
The third main installment in the "Just Cause" series has also introduced a rocket mine in the gameplay, which, when triggered propels itself for a few seconds before exploding. The explosion creates a variety of effects, such as a "human ragdoll" firework, and even a flying car.
Rico, using the missile launcher on his back, also blows up cars, planes, bridges, and whole buildings from the air, with the trailer showing him shooting other paratroopers from his position on a parachute.
Initially announced in November 11 as a sequel to 2010's "Just Cause 2," the game takes place two years following the events of the previous game, showing Rico Rodriguez leaving The Agency to return to his home in Medici, a fictional island set in the Mediterranean.
Medici is controlled by the dictator Di Ravello, and Rico goes on a mission to stop Di Ravello from enacting his plans of world domination, while rescuing his homeland into the bargain.
The third-person open-world game will be focused on 400 square miles of island featuring subterranean caves, a cityscape, and the sky above it. Rico will be seen retaining his grappling hook and parachute from the previous titles, albeit with improved mechanics.
As seen in the new gameplay trailer, he will be donning a new permanent wingsuit, allowing him to glide in the air faster, while using his parachute alternately.
As with the previous games, "Just Cause 3" is geared towards destruction and violence, with a focus on chaos and explosions.
The game is expected to launch for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on December 1.
