New Mad Max Trilogy Slated For Release
The post-apocalyptic thriller Mad Max is set to come back to the big screen for its fourth installment.
The production crew is scheduled to begin shooting the new film, Fury Road in April of 2012, according to Paste Magazine.
Mad Max was the first feature length film that launched Mel Gibson’s career into super stardom because of how well it was received with audiences and the box office.

The low budget Aussie film from 1979 was produced for an estimated $300,000, grossing well over $100 million by December 1982, according to IMDB.
The sequel Mad Max 2, The Road Warrior, as well as the third installment Mad Max, Beyond Thunderdome, also did exceptionally well in the box office.
Just like the original productions the new Mad Max film, Fury Road may very well be another trilogy in the making.
"We started with Fury Road, but we then started to do a second story and a third," director George Miller told IGN. "We've written the script for the second and almost finished the third. We never intended to, they were part of the exploration of the characters."
George Miller is the original director of the trilogy who Gibson talked about in his involvement with the new film.
“I’ve talked to George…yeah. He’s been trying to do this for years – the 4th installment,” Gibson said in an interview with Collider. “At one point I was involved and it fell to bits and then this and that…so now it’s probably gone through a lot of changes and I can’t wait to see it cause everything he does is magic.”
Audiences may be disappointed that Gibson said he wasn’t going to be starring in the film but since he mentioned having some involvement in it Collider suggests that it may not be too surprising to at least see a cameo of him in it.
