Furthermore, the two represent the best in either conference as the Hawks are coming from the East and the Pelicans are from the West.

Atlanta have probably one of the best starting fives in the league with Al Horford at the center and Jeff Teague manning the point position.

They will be relying on Kyle Korver's perimeter game if they want to rain in points in a hurry, while Paul Millsap is a big man with great touch from anywhere in the court.

The Hawks showed their abilities in a 98-96 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers in their first game.

Teague was impressive with 17 points in under 21 minutes on the floor, while Horford added 15 points while shooting 50% from the field.

Tim Hardaway Jr. struggled in his first competitive game with the Hawks as the former New York Knicks guard played 15 minutes and only went 1-of-5 from the field for three points.

As for their opponents, many claim that the ceiling for the Pelicans will be as high as Anthony Davis wants it to be.

The power forward is touted as the future of the NBA and probably one of the best players in the league. His presence on the offensive and defensive end help the Pelicans gain their momentum and composure and will be relied on throughout the season.

It was evident in their 110-105 win over the Indiana Pacers.

Facing another star in Paul George, Davis rose to the occasion and led the team with 18 points, eight rebounds and an assist.

Most impressive was he did all those in less than 16 minutes on the floor.

If the Hawks want to get the win, they should stop Davis at all costs.
