Two teams lobbying in the bottom of their respective divisions meet as the New Orleans Pelicans host the Los Angeles Lakers at the Smoothie King Center in the regular season of the National Basketball Association.
The match-up is on February 4, 2016 at 9:30 PM ET.
Both teams have surprisingly done so poor this season and any chance of a turnaround in the latter part of the season seems to be very dim.

For the Lakers, no one expected them to be a playoff team this season. They have an aging star in Kobe Bryant who is playing his last season in the league. In fact, this reason may be the only one that fans have in flocking the arenas as it marks the end of the playing career of one of the best to ever play the game.
However, no one expected them to have done this poorly – they only broke the double digit mark in wins a few days ago when they beat the Minnesota Timberwolves.
They needed a vintage performance from Bryant in order to get the win they sorely needed but that does very little in changing what is left of the season.
On the other hand, the Pelicans are the more surprising one as they have struggled in the season.
Anthony Davis is still one of the best players in the league but he has gotten no help from his supporting cast.
The players that helped him last season to make the playoffs are nowhere to be found and the pressure and expectations have been placed solely on Davis' shoulders and he has tried his best to deliver.
Being in the West certainly doesn't help as it is still the more competitive conference and doing just OK does not ensure that they get a playoff spot.
