New 'Queen' Frontman Adam Lambert to Join Tour?
Former American Idol contestant Adam Lambert took to his Twitter Friday evening to dismiss previous reports that he planned to tour with 80's rock music band Queen in the 2012 summer.
Rumors of Lambert playing as Queen's new frontman began to circulate after the UK's Daily Star hinted that Lambert would accompany the band at the Sonisphere Festival, which features big name rock bands who tour throughout Europe between June and August.
The Daily Star quotes Lambert as saying: "the intention is to pay tribute to Freddie and the band by singing some ------- great songs. It's to keep the music alive for the fans and give it an energy that Freddie would have been proud of."

"Being asked to front Queen is the best thing that can possibly happen," he added.

Lambert then dispelled the rumors on Twitter on the evening of Friday, Feb. 4, saying: "Oooh them clever reporters takin my quotes outta context.... I haven't confirmed any guest appearances. I was talking about the EMA'S [European Music Awards]."
"That being said, I'm truly flattered by your jump to such glorious conclusions mr journalist!! :)" Lambert added, not directly referencing the Daily Star.
Queen and Lambert have previously joined forces at the American Idol 2009 finals and at the Nov. 2009 MTV EMA's.
In Dec. 2011, Queen's drummer Roger Taylor fueled the rumors that Lambert would join the band in their summer tour, telling Billboard.com that "[Lambert] has grown into a really great performer with an astonishing voice. ... We would like to work with him again. There's nothing signed just yet, but we're talking about live dates."
A representative for Queen's label, Hollywood Records, told music magazine Rolling Stone that "The Daily Star item only mentions that Adam may perform with Queen at Sonisphere. This is not confirmed. Nothing has been signed."
"However, if this were to happen, Queen would be returning to the setting of their final concert with Freddie Mercury, which took place in 1986," the rep added.
Freddie Mercury played his final concert as Queen's frontman at Knebworth Park in the summer of 1986.
