New Samsung HDTV's Link With Galaxy Nexus Smartphone and Other Android Devices
Samsung's upcoming HDTV models will become hubs for Android smartphones and tablets through their linking features.
The company's Series 7 Samsung Smart Station and Series 7 HDTV Monitor are high-definition LED TV sets. The Series 7 Samsung Smart Station will have a 24-inch screen and 27-inch screen edition. The Series 7 HDTV Monitor will sport a unique stand design.
Both HDTV sets feature two USB 3.0 ports, in addition to the conventional HDMI and VGA features seen on other HDTV's.

The most attractive feature of the Series 7 Smart Station is its docking feature that allows Android smartphones and tablets to link with the device.
The link feature works with Mobile High-Definition Link (MHL) technology. MHL technology is the standard specification Android smartphones and tablets use to link up with HDTV’s. This allows the devices to stream content from them to an HDTV.
This feature covers a wide spectrum of readily available Android smartphones and tablets. Users can link their Samsung Galaxy Nexus, HTC Rezound or Samsung Galaxy S2 alongside other Android smartphones with the HDTV.
Some of the Android-ready tablets that can link with Samsung's HDTV include the Acer ICONIA Tab and the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1.
Samsung’s Series 7 Smart Station also comes with a remote control feature that allows smartphones to be controlled using a mouse and keyboard. Users can switch between this option and the wireless control of a laptop equipped with a special WiFi dongle.
Samsung's vice president of marketing Todd Bouman spoke on the emerging need to adopt a feature like this.
"The PC market has been slowly evolving as users move away from desktops in favor of the convenience of laptops, tablets and even smartphones," he stated. "By doing this, users are limited to comparatively small screens, touchpads, limited keyboards and multiple peripheral connections. The new Series 7 Smart Station and Series 7 HDTV monitor solve these problems by providing users with an easy way to reduce desktop connection clutter and combine the convenience of a laptop or mobile device with the traditional advantages of a desktop PC."
Both HDTV’s will be shown through a public demo at the annual CES Show next week. The Series 7 Smart Station will go for the price of $549 when it launches in March. The Series 7 HDTV Monitor's price will start at $599.
