New Trailer for 'LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2' Features 'Thor: Ragnarok'

Ahead of "Thor: Ragnarok's" theatrical release this weekend, the film has invaded the "LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2." The trailer for the game was unveiled earlier this week, offering gamers a first look at the Marvel movie content.

The new hilarious clip shows "Thor: Ragnarok" coming to "LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2," incorporating the signature hilarious marketing that Marvel has been using to promote its next outing through the addition of colorful visuals and synth wave music. The trailer also noticeably makes use of one of the retro wave tracks previously used in one of the popular trailers for the upcoming film.

Based on the trailer, the content for the game focuses on Thor and his fellow Avengers as they face off against one of the Marvel villains, who ends up wreaking havoc to most of Asgard and sending the whole world into total chaos.

Aside from the appearances of "Thor: Ragnarok's" main heroes and some villains, including Surtur and the Grandmaster, the new "LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2" footage also offers a glimpse of the alternate versions of Thor and Marvel's Mean Green Smashing Machine, as well as Beta Ray Bill, the Maestro, and Red Hulk.

Unlike the "Thor: Ragnarok" movie, what is shown in the footage is more of a typical "Avengers"-themed adventure featured in a "LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2" narrative. In the footage, the God of Thunder is shown venturing across various locations set within the LEGO Universe, with Captain Marvel, Captain America, and many other heroes tagging along.

Co-written by comics veteran Kurt Busiek, "LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2" features a plot that travels through time and visits alternate realities. Although the trailer teases "Thor"-inspired content, it also announces that the Deluxe Edition season pass of the game will include downloadable content (DLC) inspired by some of Marvel's most popular films.

The game is set for release on Nov. 4 for PS4, Xbox One, PC and, Nintendo Switch.
